My first car.... purchased in 1979. A second hand imported Mini 1000 sold by a friend for RM4,800. There was no requirement for downpayment, it was a sale based on trust. Thank you Pak Aji Zainal.
A monthly installment of RM200 was paid directly to Pak Aji without fail for a period of 2 years. This amount of monthly installment was considered a big sum since my salary then was RM840 per month.
The plate number, BAP 3084, meaning it was registered in the State of Selangor but I don't remember what year it was. To me "BAP" stands for "Biar Aku Pergi" in Bahasa Malaysia or in English I choose to denote "Leave Me Alone".... LOL.
The car was used for 2 years and later sold to an Indian couple for RM4,500. The reason for selling the Mini because I needed a 4-door sedan.
